Learn how to draw or paint from the life model and cast in a London based professional drawing atelier during the 10 day summer drawing school. The course provides you with a complete procedure from drawing through to a finished study in oils using the sight-size method.
This workshop can be studied over 5 days or 10 days. If you are keen to paint, we recommend the full two weeks.
This course is a perfect introduction for those new to the ’Sight-Size’ method, and an enjoyably intensive opportunity for those who would like to employ their current technique in a structured environment. Suitable for all stages of artistic development this is a perfect way to develop their skills further.
The course replicates the LARA full time course with drawing from the life model for three hours every morning, followed by cast drawing/painting in the afternoons.
Our tutors adapt the teaching system to your aptitude and progress throughout the course in order to create the most satisfying and challenging experience.
The Facilities
Limited to 13 students each student works within the main school of the atelier on their own cast drawing throughout the two week period. Rare in the UK, the figure model pose is sustained for the duration of the two weeks, providing you with the perfect opportunity to truly observe the figure and develop your drawing.
The End Result
By working for six hours each day over the five day period each student leaves with a carefully observed and rendered cast drawing and a strong figure drawing having grasped the complexities of the sight size method.
