About The Course
This short course aims to introduce students to the setup, design and execution of still-life painting. Using the sight-size method of approach, students will be guided through a step-by-step process involving accurate drawing and creative placement of objects on the canvas, true to life colour observation and a varying of brush techniques for different textural effects.
Still-life Setups and Objects
Students may bring along a few objects of which they have interest in painting – bearing in mind the size of the painting will be relatively small, around 30 x 40cm. A few objects will also be provided in class to choose from and we will be setting up the individual setups together.
All courses are subject to availability. LARA reserves the right to cancel any course. LARA will aim to provide enough prior notice in the event of a cancellation and all fees will be refunded.
Materials are not provided so students will need to bring their own materials with them. A full list will be provided on booking.
The End Result
Each student leaves with a carefully observed still life painting. By working for six hours each day over the five day period this gives the student the opportunity to capture the essence of the composition.
