About the course
Creating accomplished paintings is easier when you learn to understand the processes of master painters. Working from a selection of high-quality reproductions, students will have the opportunity to thoroughly study how old masters created their extraordinary works.
All stages of the painting will be covered, from initial drawings to the final glazing application used to develop subtle nuances. Further topics covered will include: colour, edge treatment and handling, paint quality, understanding the light and form, medium and layering of oil painting.
Several demonstrations will be given throughout the workshop to help illustrate the various procedures along with a step by step overview of the painting process.
